Keep Moving
You have a goal, but you don't know how to get from point A to point B. Don't worry about "the how" and just keep moving.
Do you have a secret goal? Do you secretly wish you could be a published author—a New York Times best-selling author? Do you secretly want to be on Oprah and reach millions of women around the world? Do you want to make a living off of your own business, and to not feel the stress of "work/life balance" as strongly as you do right now?
As you get clearer on your goals, you will likely get equally clear on your fears. They probably sound something like this: "I secretly fear that I'm not doing enough or giving enough. I secretly fear that I'll fail at this venture. I worry about bringing in money, about providing more for my family."
When fear strikes, it often comes in the form of subconscious thoughts. And those thoughts can feel paralyzing. When we think thoughts of fear, we begin to focus on the tiny details of how things will get done, which leads to thoughts of "I don't know how to do that" or "I've never done that before."
When you're feeling paralyzed with fear, you'll want to stop. You'll want to hide. You'll want to quit.
It's this pivotal moment that separates those who achieve their goals from those who do not. If you stop now, you won't be doing what you set out to accomplish in the first place—to help. If you stop now, you'll not only say goodbye to the lifestyle and creative goals you have for yourself, the world will be deprived of your gifts and the connections that come from them.
Whether you're passionate about helping animals, people or the planet, your goals are fueled by a grander vision. You know that you need to get out there. You know your work is so important. You do the work because it will have a positive impact on more than just your own life. Because you're a go-getter—a warrior—and you know achieving your goals will change the world for the better, this is the moment when you keep moving.
Party with your fear. Take large projects and goals one step at a time, one day at a time. Trust that the resources, answers and people necessary to reach that goal will be revealed to you at the right moment. Keep your eyes and ears open. And keep moving.
